2010 Kids Sports Spectacular

What is 2010 Kids Sports Spectacular? It’s a Free Funtastic Adventure for kids who are wheelchair users and their families.

Kids Sports Spectacular is United Spinal Association’s banner event. A day just for kids, and an opportunity for them to participate in exciting activities, games and sports events. A fantastic location- The Wachovia Center, the premiere venue in Philadelphia where kids can feel like they’re in the pros. It all tops off with the adventure that comes with trying new things and making new friends.

Family members are most welcomed and their admission is also free. There will be skilled coaches and helpers on-site. Equipment will be supplied as well as lunch, refreshments, prizes, and freebies.

Go to the Kids Sports Spectacular web page for more information and registration.

Some insider thoughts: While I am not one of the hands on organizers of this event, I have had the pleasure of brainstorming with them and helping out with web-based promotions for a number of years. It was so easy to figure out the purpose of this great event. Yes, a fun day for kids who are wheelchair users. That’s the start of it but the real magic comes later and lasts longer than one day.

For many of the kids this event is a character builder. It demonstrates to them their own abilities. They carry away with them some of what they will need in their future endeavors- Pride, self esteem, confidence, and the realization that all things are possible and open to them. But try to tell them that while they’re running around the Wachovia Center laughing and screaming.

If you’re not a kid you can still have some fun by having a look at the slideshow of last year’s event.

Spread the word around the Philadelphia area, and remember, it’s free for all kids and family members. It’s not head to head competitive so every child is a winner, in more ways than one.

Hope to see some of you at the Kids Sports Spectacular in Philadelphia.
