A Muscle Mobility Scooter For The High Road

Image of Afikim Sporster Mobility Scooter Tricked out for the high road, the Afikim Sportster B&C mobility scooter is designed for street use and mixed terrain use.

The Sportster B&C, manufactured in Israel and distributed internationally, is one of the new breed of mobility scooters that many users are calling Muscle Mobility Scooters. Muscle, because they pack more power, tougher suspension, higher clearance, and more miles per hour than the average street scooter. This all combines to make off-roading and getting to places that are inaccessible to mobility scooter users a possibility. The Harley-Davidson like front end is what really caught my attention.

Here are some of the manufacturer’s specs on the Sportster B&C:

  • Easy to operate, offering a comfortable and secure ride irrespective of the terrain
  • Rear power unit for added power and driving range
  • Extra strong reinforced steel chassis provides added stability
  • Unique adjustable suspension with shock absorbers ensures a smooth ride
  • Advanced safety system halts the vehicle should the driver lose control

This bad boy is no runt. With batteries it weighs in at 297 lbs. It has a maximum top end of 10 mph and the manufacturer claims a 30 mile range per charge. It sports 14″ rear tires and a 10″ front for getting over the rough stuff. Five inches of ground clearance to help with obstacle clearing and a front end with adjustable suspension to smooth out the ride.
