New York State is gobbling up money earmarked for Spinal Cord Injury Research and dropping it in their general fund for spending in other ways.
The proposed legislation reads similar to a wheelchair lemon law and offers wheelchair consumers some degree of protection and recourse. But, whatever happened to it? It just keeps fading out of view and being put off.
“Why aren’t there any “wheelchair accessible” hospital rooms and baths? When we wheelchair users have to go the hospital there is no way we can use the bathroom.”
