I am an abled bodied person writing on the subject of disabilities at my blog www.abled.blogspot.com. I have a similar discussion in my post http://abled.blogspot.com/2007/07/what-is-disability.html. I think that the commonality amongst the disabled is being outside the mainstream of general ability. The irony is that all of us will at some point will be outside this mainstream whether by age or injury.
