I was feeling a bit futuristic so I knew it was time to stop thinking crusty old power wheelchair technology and get my head over to where the action is. The auto industry, and the cutting edge Air Car from Zero Pollution Motors. The Air Car is built with the high performance Compressed Air Technology Yes it runs on air! At least up to 35mph anyway. After that it requires a small trickle of gasoline to keep you humping up to 90 mph. Driving range? Somewhere around 800 miles per tank with very little maintenance. No pollution when riding on air and no gasoline assaults on your wallet. Prototype or real? Here is what the manufacturer says: "ZPM will begin taking reservations in early 2008 for US deliveries of the Air Car in early 2010. To take reservations we will launch a new networking website that will build community around the much anticipated introduction of the Air Car to the US market." Word on the street has this airmobile selling for a bit under $20,000.00. Considering the savings in gasoline it’s a bargain. Hey, it might even make a very cool adaptive vehicle. But one step at a time. |
