Hall’s Hallmark

Not a week goes by that I don’t receive an email inquiring about the status of this wheelchair. People wanting to know where to get one, how to buy one, and are they as good as legend has it. Others write asking about Bob Hall, the designer and manufacturer. Has anyone seen him? Is he okay? Will he be back in business?

Hall\'s Hallmark rigid frame wheelchairAs far as the questions go, I certainly don’t have the answers to them. What I can say from experience- I have never met a Hallmark owner who didn’t LOVE this wheelchair, or a rigid frame wheelchair user who didn’t want one. For many wheelheads and wheelchair users, the Hallmark was the quintessential chair, a renaissance chair so to say. This is the one they will be measuring all other rigids against for a long time to come.

I was lucky enough to get one of the last ones he made. I didn’t know he stopped, but apparently it was a couple months after I got mine.

I *love* it. It’s the best fit I’ve ever experienced in a chair. Handles like a charm, it’s light. Just perfect…

I don’t know what I’ll do when this chair dies on me :( It’ll be hard to go back to something else.

I have a Halls chair. I bought it in 2001 and its the best chair I’ve ever had. I talked to Bob Hall over the phone and he’s pretty funny and a very nice guy. I now make wheelchair bags and Mini Packs for chairs-www.wheelchairgear.com
If I knew Halls was closing shop I would have bought another for a spare.
The chair looks cool. I can push it all day on a trip. Bob if you are out there I hope all is well and we miss you! Les Snyder (a very happy customer)

I have one, but I got it secondhand. It was made for a person much taller than me. So, I am looking at getting a just-as-cool chair, but I’m not sure how much people would pay for a halls, so I don’t know if it’s worth selling. The seat dimensions are 15×18, and someone should be around 6′ tall to fit into it. Any ideas? How much would you pay? If you are really super interested in buying one, I might sell, but not sure yet. Contact me at my email saiiyah @ (nospam) .gmail. com (take out the nospam and spaces).

I need to talk with Bob to find out what size the ball bearings are since I need to replace mine. I have owned his chair since my accident in 1997. I can say that it is a great chair and anytime I have to use another I love returning to the Hall.

Bob: What is you email address.

      Robt in San Francisco.

I know Bob Hall. My brother works with him at the BAA and I used to live in Cambridge, MA. I own a Newhall’s chair, have since 2000, and I LOVE it! Problem is it is time for a new one and because Bob no longer makes chairs, I’m STUCK!! After much research, I’ve come to find a manufacturer called RGK out of Canada. They make a chair very similar to Bob’s chair. As a matter of fact, the sales rep I’ve been talking to knows Bob. All the same, I am REALLY at odds over the fact I can’t get another chair from Bob. I would be SO happy if he’d come back and start up his business again.
