Join the ICS Team at the Komen NYC Race for the Cure on September 12, 2010.

One out of eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Breast cancer knows no boundaries – not age, gender, socioeconomic status or geographic location. Women with physical disabilities have more barriers to screening, are diagnosed later, and have a higher incidence of mortality from breast cancer.

Together, with the Greater New York City Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure we can raise awareness of these barriers, make mammography accessible for all, and help fight breast cancer!

1. SIGN UP! Register with your team online at www.komennyc.org/race by clicking on the “Join a Race Team” tab. Your friends, family, and neighbors are invited to be a part of the ICS – Independence Care System Team too. Please ask them to go online and register. Make sure you select the correct team name.

2. FUNDRAISE! Tell your family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues about the Race and ask them to help by making a contribution to your personal or team fundraising page online. They can also write a check to “Komen Greater NYC” with ICS in the memo line. Help the ICS team raise money AND awareness! Remember, every dollar makes a difference!

3. RACE/WALK! Participate in the Komen NYC Race for the Cure with the ICS team and enjoy a fun day filled with hope and encouragement!
