Low Lifes or A-Holes?

A nine year old girl and cancer survivor had her wheelchair stolen on Thanksgiving. What a horrible thing to happen on what should have been a great day for this little girl.

This sweet kid was visiting with neighbors to wish them a happy Thanksgiving when the wheelchair was stolen:

From KTTV Fox 11

Ashanti Barnes went to her neighbors’ home to wish them a Happy Thanksgiving around 11:30 a.m. Thursday and left her wheelchair outside by the stairs because it wouldn’t fit through the door.

When Ashanti was leaving, she discovered that someone had made off with her wheelchair.

Ashanti is a cancer survivor. One of her legs was amputated and the wheelchair was her primary means of transportation.

I was raised on the hard streets of The Bronx and you can bet I have a very colorful and at times obscene vocabulary, but nothing in my street lexicon can do these f*#&@)g vermin justice.

To top it off the wheelchair is funded by none other than California’s own historically apathetic and sluggish MEDI-CAL.

Ashanti’s mom tells us she obtained it through a MEDI-CAL provider, but says requesting a replacement is a lengthy process and she cannot afford $300-500 for a new chair.

Luckily, it appears that the community is reaching out to Ashanti and her family. They have received a number of offers to replace the wheelchair.

I truly hope that Ashanti winds up with a new wheelchair quickly and that the perpetrators wind up in the joint for so long that Ashanti is a great grandmother before they get out.

I have no words. Well, I should say I have no words that aren’t FOUR LETTER WORDS for those people. I can’t imagine why anyone would do that!
