| November 18, 2009

The Vehicle Production Group announced the world’s first Mobility Vehicle, the MV-1, will begin rolling off the production lines at the AM General state-of-the art facility in Mishawaka, Indiana in October 2010.

M General is a world leader in design, engineering and production of extremely durable military and special purpose vehicles, such as the military Humvee as well as its civilian relatives the HUMMER H1 and the HUMMER H2.M.

The MV-1 will be available in either gasoline or dedicated compressed natural gas (CNG) models.

There is a proven and reliable engine under the hood of the new MV-1. The Vehicle Production Group announced this week that Ford Component Sales (FCS) has agreed to supply the Ford 4.6L 2V EFI V8 and the Ford 4R75E Electronic 4-Speed Automatic transmission with Overdrive for use in the MV-1. “It’s a workhorse of a powertrain that’s proven effective and dependable with millions of road miles to back up its reputation. With 248 hp at 4,750 RPM and 294 ft. lb. of torque at 4,000 RPM, the MV-1 has the power of a truck, yet drives with the comfort and handling of a car.”
