SuperFour All Terrain Wheelchair

A new entry in the all terrain/off road wheelchair world. The SuperFour is an all wheel steering chariot manufactured by Otto Bock of Germany. It is presently winding up a road tour of cities in Germany.

This is a hot looking bump climber. The rollbar cage and the combination sweep-over canopy and windshield give it a very in your face look. Super aggressive!

The hybrid drive will haul you for a max of 200 km (124 miles), with an almost noise free gas engine that kicks in when the electricity runs out.

Some of the specs:

  • All-wheel steering
  • Independent suspension
  • Handles inclines of up to 40 percent
  • An automatic seat tilt system improves safety when driving downhill.
  • Reaches speeds of up to 15 km/h or 9.32 mph.
  • Range up to 200 km/h or

I do appreciate the looks and features of these new all terrain wheelchairs. It wasn’t so long ago that all terrain in a wheelchair meant throwing a set of knobbies and a pair of 10" pneumatic fronts onto the old general use power wheelchair. That may have helped get you over a wet speed bump but it sure as hell wouldn’t deal with a 40 percent incline.

Check out the Otto Bock site for not much more information.
