Wheelchair Accessible Kangaroo
Kenguru (Kangaroo), a wheelchair accessible transport from the land of the Magyar. Not where you would normally expect to find a kangaroo, but nonetheless pretty neat.
The Kenguru, manufactured by Rehab Rt. of Hungary, is an adaptive vehicle designed to hold one rider in a manual wheelchair. It is electric powered and comes complete with a lock down system and a joystick instead of a steering wheel. The user can just roll in, lock down, and take-off.
Range= 40 to 60 km
Speed= 35-40 km/h.According to designer Zsolt Varga-
“In the concept of a “vehicle in vehicle” we focused on the function. We constructed the model to surround the user sitting in a manual wheelchair, than added ergonomic operating and functional units. We used soft lines on the outside. The inside space is friendly, controlling and operating units can be reached easily. The driver feels secure even in city traffic, furthermore he drives an attractive „car”.
