Wheelchair Accessible TrikeHere’s a new entry in accessible electric drive vehicles for the urban commuter. And where is it from? The mountainous region of Costa Rica. All of the geography aside, it is quite the interesting wheelchair accessible trike.

The Wheelchair Accessible Trike is designed and manufactured by Panda Mobility and is the adapted entry in their line of electric drive vehicles. The Wheelchair Accessible Trike comes decked with:

  • Electrically-operated roll-on and roll-off ramp for wheelchair access
  • Color-coded padded custom wheelchair for enhanced driver comfort
  • Full handlebar driver controls
  • High-strength wheelchair clamp mechanism for ultimate driver security

Panda Mobility claims that their Wheelchair Accessible Trike is a no fuss and low maintenance vehicle, and it certainly is greener than a gas powered trike. Here are some of the technical specs:

  • 72 Volt Power Plant
  • Fully integrated charger reaches 80% capacity in 2 hours and 100% in 4 hours
  • Powerful 19HP (14kW) brushless motor for effortless hill climbs
  • 45mph (72kph) top speed
  • 30 mile (48km) urban range
  • Curb weight: 550lb (250kg)
  • Aluminum 6061 T6 Chassis
  • Carbon Fiber side panels and fenders for reduced weight
  • Forward and reverse gears
  • Economy and sport driving modes
  • All-round disc brakes
  • Fully independant suspension
  • Regenerative braking for ultimate efficiency
  • Zero emissions
