As most of you may already know the revision of the Americans with Disabilities Act made it through the Senate unanimously on 09/11/08.
“This Act will revive the protections of the ADA that have been eroded by the courts. It will help all Americans with disabilities,”
Paul Tobin, President, United Spinal Association

While our Senators get a pat on the back for hearing their constituents on this issue, the real credit goes to the grass roots people who came out in large numbers and with a unified voice so loud that they were heard way up on The Hill.
I was fortunate enough to work with United Spinal on their campaign agenda and was at the helm of the online technology that allowed people to come to the site and send emails and faxes to the honorable crowd up on The Hill. Checking the cluster data was inspiring. People from all parts of the country came to the site and sent emails to their Senators. They spoke with one voice and with great conviction.
To those of you who pitched in and shouldered the burden of responsibility for change- A most sincere well done, and a well earned tip of the hat to you all. You did it!
