Strengths:comfortable
no pressure sores formed from sitting on this cushion
Weaknesses:impossible to clean
hot/sweat-inducing
the front of the cushion (where your legs go) is lower than the rear, affecting the front seat height of your wheelchair
Comments:this cushion is a waste of money unless you like swamp-ass

Fabric catches on clothing making it difficult to shift or slide.
Hard/uncomfortable especially at tailbone area.
Difficult to clean
Comments:I love my chair but would NEVER get this cushion again, back to vinyl for me.

Robert from Leander, TX, USA submitted this review on January 18th 2006 at 02:13 PM. Robert is an end user who has one to six months of experience with the product.
Strengths:I have yet to have any skin problems using this pad, although I am somewhat active and still have movement in my lower body (I have a relatively mild form of MD) so this may not be the case with other users. The cover has not ripped and seems to clean up very easily if I spill food on it.
Weaknesses:It is HOT HOT HOT. The foam just soaks in the heat and does not let go. I get out of the chair at the end of my 16 hr days and the seat of my pants/shorts/whatever is just soaked with sweat. I thought this was normal until I read the other reviews here.

When it gets cold outside it gets ROCK HARD. (The wheelchair lives in the bed of my truck when I travel.)

I've had it 5 months and it's an inch shorter than it used to be (I am 6'0" and 200lbs for what it's worth.) It has become incredibly uncomfortable and needs replacing due to the collapse. For what it costs, this is unacceptable. I will not be buying another Matrx-V.

It is too heavy.

Comments:My friend sat down in it when I was in the office chair at my computer the other day. He commented 10 minutes later that he could not believe I can sit on "this heating pad" all day.

Loyd from Winston Salem submitted this review on June 1st 2004 at 09:49 AM. Loyd is an end user who has six months to a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:Foam has a good memory. It is very quick to expand while I am boosting. Easy care and dries quickly. Cover is easy to remove and replace. It stays in place in the chair until you purposefully remove it. This is very helpful for the active user.
Weaknesses:Cover being black it has a tendency to retain heat. But this is helpful in the winter. To be a foam cushion it is a little heavy, but nothing like a gel cushion would be.
Comments:The front of the cushion is tapered back toward the chair from top to bottom, I think it would be better if that were reversed. Other than that I feel the cushion has worked well for me.
