Brad from Manteca, Ca. submitted this review on May 9th 2012 at 07:34 PM. Brad is an end user who has over ten years of experience with the product.
Strengths:(Speed): (10.5 MPH) with superior durability/dependability high end users such as myself command.
(Low-End Torque): D drive provides while encountering obstacles/hills (Outdoors)and rough terrain without the assistance of an attendant. A,B, drive settings for those beginners indoors and C for top end (10.5 MPH)for guys like me, constant.
(Superior Electronics): These electronics are unmatched in the industry as far as i'm concerned for my needs. They can be set for just about any user to meet their specific individual needs according to their abilities; very responsive!
(Through the Joystick Programming): This feature allows me to set basic electronic (Joystick) response options without a programmer; i've set mine several times for my personal preference.
(The "Set Brake" feature): When i'm getting in and out of my vehichle on sloped streets/hills etc. This feature allows me to set my drive selections for coast times conducive to my abilities which allows me to run top end (10.5 MPH)while traveling outdoors as well as indoors avoiding sudden dynamic brakeing by controlling the Joystick.
(Recline Mechanism): Superior to others on the market i've experienced; fast and very responsive, necessary in many situations for me.
(Construction): Superior reinforced Frame full metal Joystick control Box and Leg Rest vs. plastic as in other Rear/Mid and Front wheel drive chairs on the market today. If you run into something (Yes we all have) your Joystick/footrest etc. will not disintegrate on you upon impact causing lenghty down times as we are all familiar with.
(Tech Support): 21st works with me directly unlike other manufactures.
(Accommodates my size): With my 6'3" stature i don't look like a guy riding around on a four-wheeled bar-stool with a motor; IT FITS!!
Weaknesses:(The electronics): This is whining though! They could stand to be a bit quieter. If turning radius is critical to you,SORRY! I'm an outdoors person always have been and turning radius is of no concern to me, SPEED and DEPENDABILTY is! I'll see you at the end of the "Things to do list" at the end of the day. Have a good one!
Comments:For "High end Users" such as myself, you will not find a more durable/dependable wheelchair on the market today. I'm a C-5 C-6 Quad post injury 29 years in May who could not be more satisfied with 21st Century equipment as well as the envy of many wheelchair bound friends. I personally would literally be lost without this chair from every angle as a disabled person. The Speed, durability, dependability, functionality and comfort are unmatched for me personally.

Once an individual learns how to drive a Porsche, (Bounder Plus) they will never go back to a Pinto!

Deborah from San Antonio, Texas, United States submitted this review on April 2nd 2012 at 12:17 PM. Deborah is an end user who has one to six months of experience with the product.
Strengths:Does not have any that I have found.
Weaknesses:1) Frame weight of 500 pounds prevents it from being used on public transportation due to a 600 pound weight limit for ramp.

2) Frame width of 34 inches does not allow it to be used on vehicle loading ramps as they are only 30 inches wide.

3) It stops so fast that it throws the rider forward and if seat belt is not properly fastened the rider would be thrown from chair.

4) Chair motors tend to pull/veer the chair to the left out into traffic.

5) Chair is not a safe chair for end users.
Comments:Things I found wrong with the chair so far. I would not EVER but another Big Bounder chair. I value my life and this chair is not safe for a bariatric person to use!

Problems with chair:

1) Frame weight of 500 pounds prevents it from being used on public transportation due to a 600 pound weight limit for ramp.

Strengths:I'm hooked on Bounders. Run all day, run all night. With RECARO.
Weaknesses:$$$$$$$
Comments:My fourth #4 Bounder, Power and manual. Two Conventional and one 'H', oh and one manual.
LOVE RECARO.

Strengths:The Frame, the RECARO DS, the Ride, The "SUSPENSION", The Ride. Yes, the "rear suspension" gives it a great great ride. The first one with "suspension". Almost like a cloud, but for the front end casters hitting bump and giving a sharp 'thud' to the ride.
Oh, did I mention the footboard. BIG 21" wide.Protect your feet!
Oh, did I mention the soft ride ? It's great.
Weaknesses:Wide 29' at rear wheels. But not that wide but it is in house. 32" doors = 31" opening.Big footboard doen't make turns from 42" hallway to bedrooms.
Said they will make smaller for me, thank you RD.
Comments:Yes, I did get another one (post from Big Bounder). This is number three. Two powers and a manual.
WoW the ride, the rear suspension, it's great.
Yes I'd get another.

Weaknesses:No rear suspension. Okay on smooth surfaces, but even sidewalk expansion joints can be felt. Not very stylish.
