Glen from Fort Worth, Tx submitted this review on February 27th 2012 at 06:21 PM. Glen is an end user who has over five years of experience with the product.
Strengths:Reliable, solid power when needed, comfortable
Weaknesses:original rear tires were not on a split rim which required buying a new rim with the foam filled tires at $100.00 each.

drive tires are tubes and i have had a hard time finding tubes.

one of the control wires from hand controller failed because of me using the swing away mount. that was $100
Comments:original setup for the controller box with tilt/recline/elevate buttons got broke twice getting snagged on a door frame. I eventually figured out i could remount so that it was not exposed to anything on the right that might snag and break the box. That was only $10.00 x 2 eventually (after 5 years) had to replace the actual switch membrane for under $30.00

bought the chair in 2008 its now 2012 had to buy a new membrane cover for the acutal joy stick $30.00 plus $17.00 for shipping which is a rip as it could have been put in an envelope

this is my third chair and it has all the bells/whistles except light kit. Its been to Vegas twice by air, two 1 mile dog walks a day and only the stuff described above failed.

the two motors are going strong, electronics good. Its usually filthy as i go where ever i want.

Charging the battery is noisy but that's not a permobil charger.

until last year i was using a high top van with a under vehicle lift and had no problem getting the chair and I into and out of the van. Now use a mini van with fold out lift and it works great.

MAURICE from ST PETERSBURG, FL UNITED STATES submitted this review on July 7th 2006 at 09:01 AM. MAURICE is an end user who has over a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:I have a CHAIR-MAN ENTRA, it is very durable, as I have moved furniture, stove, organ by accident when my chair got hung on these items.
Speed is fast
Weaknesses:The rear wheels pick up loose material ie. sock, towel or any clothing, and jams it on the tire frame.
Tires are not puncture free
hand to find innertubes
Comments:I have had my entra for three years, and since I am an amputee (right leg above the knee) I rely on my chair for mobility.I have had my prothesis device just 11 months, so I still rely on my chair

Strengths:SEATING VERY COMFORTABLE
Weaknesses:WEAK MOTORS, SUSPENSION WEAK,ALL PLASTIC COMPONENTS, AIR FILLED TIRES NOT SOLID URETHANE FOR DURABILITY. CLEARNCE UNDER NEATH CHAIR IS TOO LITTLE, HITS OBJECTS ON GROUND LEVEL ABOUT 1" OR HIGHER.
Comments:I JUST RECEIVED MY CHAIR IN LATE AUG. WASN'T ABLE TO USE IT UNTIL I HAD AN EASY LOCK INSTALLED FOR SECUREMENT IN VEHICLE.

I JUST VISIT AN ACESS EXPO IN SANTA CLARA, CA. PERMOBIL REPRESENATIVE'S INDICATED THIS MODEL IS NOW REPLACED BY ANOTHER MODEL WITH NEW FEATURES THAT HAVE REPLACED THE PARTS THAT I INDICATED AS DEFAULTS IN THIS CHAIR. MY CHAIR IS A CHAIR MAN ENTRA BY PERMOBIL.
